Now that South Carolina has removed the Confederate flag from its capitol grounds, the NAACP and NCAA are ready to do business with that state again. They both had been boycotting South Carolina. The NAACP had been refusing to hold any of its conventions there. The NCAA had been withholding its athletic events from the state. However, South Carolina should say no thanks to both of them. It should tell the NAACP to keep its conventions and the NCAA to keep its athletic events. South Carolina should tell them plainly that since they didn’t want to do business with it before, it does not want to do business with them now. Yes, South Carolina should turn the tables and boycott the NAACP and NCAA because they boycotted it. Of course, I don’t expect that to happen. South Carolina will likely welcome both of them with open arms. It will be just another example of greed trumping honor in our modern culture.
