I am amazed at the number of universities, schools, hospitals, charities, and other organizations that were founded as Christian, but are now secular. Wake Forest University, the YMCA, and the Christian Children’s Fund (now Child Fund International) are just a few examples of entities that were once Christian but have now been drawn over to the secular side. I fear that many of today’s Christian organizations, such as Liberty University, the Gospel Music Network, and CBN will eventually become secular. And look how many former Christian musicians have now “diversified” into the world of secular music.
What is it about the secular that gives it such magnetism as to pull Christians and Christian organizations into its grip? Did you know that drama/acting began in the church several centuries ago? That’s right – it all began as a Christian function. But look at the state of that industry now. It’s about as anti-Christian as it can get. Christians and Christian and groups have to be careful to stay on the straight and narrow. Because Satan is the god of this world, it’s so easy to get drawn into his secular way thinking. That’s why we need to be make sure we do not compromise our principles.
