They are now conducting hearings in Washington about what happened in Benghazi. Oh, brother! While it was a tragedy that four Americans lost their lives in that attack, I have not lost a minute of sleep over it. And I don’t spend any of my daylight hours worrying about. All the investigations, accusations, arguments, and naming-calling in the world is not going to bring those people back.
So I think it’s time to move on and spend our precious resource of time on something that needs to be promptly addressed – the fiscal cliff we are about to go over. Now that’s something I worry about. My taxes, and those of every other working American, could go up big time on January 1, 2013. Hundreds of thousands of people could lose their jobs. The credit rating of the United States could get downgraded – again. Our economy could take such a hit that it could be thrown back into a recession, or ever a depression.
Congress needs to avert this disaster while it still has a chance. Time is running out. This is no time to be playing a game of Benghazi gotya’ or political one-upmanship. If we go over cliff, I’m going to lay most of the blame squarely at the feet of those Republican senators and congressmen who just can’t let go of the Benghazi situation. They are doing this country a great disservice right now by catering to Fox News and playing politics with a tragedy, instead addressing an issue that’s critical to the very survival of our country. Patriots they are not.
