By now, you have probably heard the news story about the mother and her crying baby who were thrown off a bus in Oregon by its driver. The driver had warned the mother several times to “make” her baby stop crying. When she was unable to do, the driver ordered to get off, while several miles from her destination. When the other passengers on the bus complained about her dismissal, the driver informed them that they could leave as well, if they didn’t like it. Then, in a show of solidarity with the mother and her baby, the all exited the bus.
However, was that a good decision by those passengers? I would not have gotten that bus, as I really don’t see how it would have benefited that mother and her baby. All it would have done is inconvenience me. A better course of action would have been to take down that driver’s name and file a complaint with the bus company about him. If enough people would have done that, he would probably have been fired, or at least disciplined in some way, for what he did. But simply getting off a bus in the middle of nowhere accomplishes nothing.
