Apparently, all of those people who have been telling us that crime doesn’t pay have either been lying to us or sorely mistaken. Casey Anthony is about to prove them wrong – beyond any reasonable doubt. Ms. Anthony is in the process of signing a contract with a freelance reporter from California who will pay her a cool 1 million dollars to tell her story about the circumstances surrounding the death of her two-year-old daughter, Caylee.
Although the reporter is insisting that Anthony be hooked to a lie detector during the interview, she still may be able to talk him into paying her the full amount without using it. Even he requires that it be used, Anthony will not be putting herself at risk of further prosecution due to the Constitution’s restriction against double jeopardy. So all she has to do is tell the guy what she wants him to hear – lies and all – and she’ll walk away with an easy $million. All that will have been made possible by her role in the death of her child. And whatever that role was, it was likely of the illegal sort. How’s that for crime paying off?
