While more dorm space is being constructed, a local university is having some of its students stay at various nearby motels. However, if those students need to remain at the motels for than 30 consecutive days, they will have to be granted a waiver, due to a local ordinance that forbids long-term stays at motels. And due to the objections of many county residents, that waiver is anything but a sure thing. Without it, the university will have to find a backup plan for housing those students.
I think this is a prime example of something that is very wrong with our nation. Where those students stay shouldn’t be anyone’s business except for the university, the motels involved, the students themselves, and their families. Why should anyone else care? Are we becoming a nation of busybodies? What happened to the concept of live and let live? The United States would be a much better place to live if people would just mind their own business and stop worrying about what someone else might be doing, as long as they are not bothering anyone.
